Wink Wink

Not much time for the blog during these busy summer months.
It's so hard to believe that the summer is half way over!

A cute "wink" from Mister Mason!

Hello giant diaper-- little baby! I put my bumGenius cloth diapers away for this busy moving week-- less work for me is must at the moment, so Mason is wearing Kellen's big old diapers. This little man has gone from crawling for two whole weeks to standing up on anything and everything.

These two Yehoos are still dressing up in their Mario and Luigi costumes.

Patiently watching his big bros at basketball.

Where the Buffalo Roam

Ok, actually Bison... but most people think they're looking at Buffalo when they see these big hairy brown cows (which is what the kids were told when asked "what are buffalo?").

Miss Courtney... visiting all the way from Ohio.
Words can't explain how much it means to us that she continues to love our children and be apart of their world and ours.

They only got yelled at 850x by the operator to put their little limbs inside the train or they might get ripped off.
They survived, limbs and all!

A YAH yeh... for action shots. This is probably the best our family pictures will get (ever) with all 6 of us  :)

Three

Three!

Our "first" middle child is three years old! This little boy has more energy than 5 boys put together. He's stubborn, strong willed and often a little Mr. Instigator. He's also extremely handsome, sweet as pie, has a huge heart and can get whatever he wants with a blink of his big beautiful blue eyes!

They are loving the new kitchen!!
Mom not loving it so much now... just what I need, another kitchen to clean up every night! :)

Pa skyped with K and sent him birthday wishes.

This time is flying by!!

July 4th - Independence 5k

A July 4th parade like non other that I've seen. A big parade with the mountains in the horizon just down the street from our house. I sometimes feel like we'll become jaded by the beauty that surrounds us the longer we live here. Eventually, maybe we won't be in such "awe" of the gorgeous backdrop as we once used to be?

We had perfect weather for the carnival, parade and the Independence 5k, which is how we started out the morning at 7am with our buddy Geoff. It was a pretty hard course... lots of hills, unlike the Colfax race in May which was unbelievably flat.

totally whooped!

The goal... beat the time from the last 5k. Mission was accomplished by almost a whole minute... hills and all.

Ballers in the Making Perhaps

Maybe or maybe not? But they're definitely having lot's of fun figuring it all out. We're all keeping busy at the rec center this summer. Each week is a different sport, t-ball, soccer, basketball and gymnastics so far.

It'll be very interesting to see what sports or hobbies they'll show interest in as they get older.

Having Junior high boys as mentors is pretty fantastic!

His form amazed me.

Or maybe this one will stay on the path toward his creative, artistic side?

Garden of the Gods

A day trip to the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. I'm happy to call the trip a great success with all 4 kids in tow. It was hot 90 degree day and the kids were wonderful troopers. It's so nice to be within a couple hour drive of all these beautiful places to visit. We haven't even put a dent in our site seeing bucket list, but we hope to take a couple of these little trips each month and work our way around this lovely state!

I left Mason's baby sun hat on the table at home. He had to sport a pair of swim trunks on his head to protect him from that blazing sun. When all else fails improvise with what you can :)

When we started getting close to Colorado Springs we saw a small cloud of smoke over one of the mountains. By the time we were done visiting the Garden, it was being evacuated and the smoke cloud was huge. This fire is actually still burning 2 weeks later. It's now one of the most destructive fires in Colorado's history. It's a very sad thing!!

There were so many trails to explore.

Cooling down with an ice cream break.

One word... Peaceful!

A real man can sport a front side baby carrier and not be embarrassed :) And even make it look good!
He's such a great dad!
