Robots and Stuff

Thanks to our sweet friend Melissa, we found out that the local bookstore had this fun little Pajama party night for the kids. They had catered snacks from Whole Foods and some robot talk.
The Boys had lots of fun!

The Stem School First Robotics team was there to entertain the kids with their robot that could shoot  basketballs.

Adrian preparing for the big catch.

And the ball going right through his hands.

Preston visited the snack bar about 5x during the presentation. His favorite part was the food. And Kellen is at that ornery stage right now, he was all over the place! We really try not to take him out too much at the moment because he's just too difficult. This night was no different. First he kept running up in front of the bigger kids to catch the ball and then he scaled the bookshelves unnoticed for a  minute, as he blended right into them. He's such a monkey and climbs everything! Counters, gates, tables, entertainment centers, railings and bookshelves. Hopefully he gets this out of his system soon.

and other stuff...

I've tried and tried to get a good picture with Mason now that he's smiling and laughing. But he's so mesmerized by my phone, every time I hold it up to snap a pic of us together it turns out one of two ways...

I need to start braking out the good camera again--
but Instagram and Picture+ are just too easy!

When they beg to stay up late.

It's pretty cool when they share!

Popcycle Stick Puppets

The boys were asking for puppets one day so we broke out all of our Dollar Store crafty stuff and made these fun things. They were loads of entertainment for about 2 hours... then they tore off the legs, arms, and heads-- and that was the end of our puppets.

It was all still worth the couple hours of entertainment they got out of them!

Putting on a puppet show for me. Priceless!

Dinner party

We were lucky to be invited to a lovely dinner party, with a couple great families and a kid friendly dinner at that, as in 9 kids to the 7 adults there. It was a wonderful evening with some great food, great  company... and yeah for some adult conversation! Much needed!

The kids eating dinner first. I love this idea of them eating first... we'll be trying this out at our house this week. Maybe John and I can eat a warm meal and actually talk at dinner time?!? If this helps until the kids get a little older... I am all about it!!

some movie time so the adults can eat in peace.

the kids winding down with a little dance party.

asleep within 2 minutes of our 10 minute drive home!

And this one...
well, not asleep when we got home. Actual he decided to stay up until 2 am and was not a happy camper.

The bright side-- he made it through our night out and waited until we got home to be cranked... I'll take that!

Morning Routine

Our morning routine with our favorite Apple products. It's entertainment enough to even keep baby Mason quiet and occupied so I can get a couple things done before we head downstairs to start the day.

Red Rocks Boot Camp

John and I started a Red Rocks Boot Camp yesterday. It was lots of things... beautiful, hard, fun, hard, motivating, hard and even enjoyable... for a workout that is. It's the most breathtaking and gorgeous place with amazing views! Much better than a sweaty, packed... stuffy old gym.

I have to admit when we first got up there. I thought I was going to throw up. It's strange how the older I get the more scared of heights I am. These bleachers are a little steep. But after about 5 minutes I was fine with it. Especially after watching some dude do a bear crawl up the bleachers... backwards! Um amazing! And seeing some other guys race as fast as they could all the way down. Very impressive stuff up there!

Another bootcamp was having a giant yoga class on the stage below.

resting up

(ignore the duck face... not sure why I did that (I was tired)!

We did it! All 90 minutes of it-- and we're going back again.

We workout in hopes of keeping up with our 4 boys 10 years from now :)

Technology is grand.

This is how we've been talking to dad for the past two weeks.  It's been a long two weeks too! We miss the man! Good thing he's coming home today.

Some pictures from John's biz trip to Scotland.

Happy Easter: gettin a lil crafty

We hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend-- hunting eggs, eating lots, laughing tons, being thankful, and spending quality family time!

Here's what we did for our Easter table centerpiece :) but first...

I just love it this picture above!! obviously, I've used it twice in a row now.

I'm sure folks can't get enough of seeing our kids doing crafts every holiday in their jammies :)
am I right on?!?

smiley faces never get old!

Craft Time

 Fun and easy.
We added some height to our egg basket centerpiece.

  • I drew eggs in black marker on paper
  • the kids colored them
  • cut them out (two eggs per stick - one for each side)
  • then glued them to a stick

and Whalla! Super cute and easy!
