First Date Night of 2012

John and I had our first date night in 2012-- a quick night out with our 2 1/2 hour window (nursing baby boy puts a time limit on everything right now).

What we ended up with on our night out: some sweet blurry cell phone before pics, some good wine, shrimp bruschetta, ahi tuna with guacamole and I ended up sick with a sore throat that night... just the beginning of my on going illness. I sounded like a dude for 2 days then my voice turned into a 12 year old boy hitting puberty, now I can barely speak and it hurts so bad! How in the world will I yell at the kids when they are bad today?!? I'm one of those people that waits to the last minute, until I can't take it anymore and then I go to the doctor for meds. I'm pretty sure the lack of sleep has something to do with my inability to recover from this. I'm sitting here in bed right now at 5:15 in the morning with 3 little boys and a sleeping baby watching Bob Ross (happy little tree's ring a bell :) paint mountains and I'm totally shocked the kids are so into him!
Now-- time to get serious and research a family doctor that can fix me... fast!

It's really been a swell couple of days. "Sick" has awful timing!!

blurrier and blurry... better than nothing

I adore your sense of humor (I sounded like a dude = best line ever)... I also happen to adore the happy painter so I totally get your boys' infatuation... he just sucks you in with his happy little trees and quaint insta-bridges

Bud & I both caught a little cold after we came home with Bitsy. She seemed stuffy too, but we were feeling sicky. I think the lack of sleep DEFINITELY has something to do with it!
Do forget your vitamins, hydrate, and rest when you can...even if that just means sitting still while the boys play.

Get well soon!

I am glad you had a date night! Those are so important especially after having a baby. Mom needs adult time, and Dad needs that mom time(alone with you). I hope you are feeling better. Have you ever tried garlic for a sickness. It is an natural antibiotic. In the last 12 years we (our family) have used medications only a couple of times. One of those times was when my son was at college and the other was my husband, who at the time wasn't eating healthy at all. When we feel something coming on I like to load up on garlic (garlic, Parmesan cheese, and olive oil on thinly sliced french bread or by the spoonful. I also use the Shaklee garlic which easier to take and more convenient the garlic smell is not as bad either. They put spearmint in with the garlic. Spearmint also has healing factors.
