Trick or Treat

We went to aunt Amy and uncle Jeff's for trick or treating this year. It was a great little neighborhood for the kids! Preston's costume got the most laughs (man riding a chicken) Kellen got the most Awe's - cutiepatootie.... Adrian's was the most realistic, he looked just like a mini policeman! Adrian was cracking us up... he would knock on doors and say "Hellooo, it's the pizza man" (before saying trick or treat) I have no idea where he got this?? But he'd say it in this.. deep man sounding voice, some character he's created because he's been talking in this voice a lot lately. The kid has a great sense of humor!

A Good Cause - Aidan's Monsters

John's a big twitter fan and one of his favorite bands posted this today.
This is the link to an esty shop for a 5 yr. old boy that is selling his own artwork to help pay for his chemotherapy. It's a touching story and a good cause! I'm excited to have Adrian and Preston display Aidan's artwork in their bedroom's... and they had so much fun picking out their favorite pics.
So many stories similar to Aidan's have been brought to my attention lately and it sure does make someone change their perspective and look at things in a different sort of light. The health of our children is something we might take for granted sometimes... and we may not think about it on a daily basis... but maybe we should.
Hug em tight!!! xoxo

It's Video Time

I totally forgot about posting videos on here, it's been a while.
Here's our little sponge Kellen at 15 months old. I can't believe what he picks up from the boys.
His little vocabulary is just taking off. I'll catch some more footage soon and post.

I can't wait to hand out "real" chores when the kids are a little older... I know, I say that a lot ;)

Even my dreams have been consumed with me doing laundry and cleaning... very lame and disappointing dreams I've been having... right?!?!
Someday.. I wish.... to be able to drop off my laundry somewhere and pick it up all clean and folded. And have someone clean my floors and vacuum once a week, that would be a bonus too! oh, someday i dream of it!

Mooooore Pumpkin Stuff

We headed out for Adrian's preschool class field trip at a pumpkin patch. It was cool, there was so much to do for the kids and the weather was beautiful!
Adrian and Miss Courtney - great pic!

Finding that perfect pumpkin!

Then we had to paint the pumpkins. Preston was very methodical at first and what he did to one side of his pumpkin, he did to the other side (for the first 10 min.) And Adrian was just all over the place.. they both turned out looking like beautiful graffiti pumpkins ;)

Happy 4th Birthday Adrian!!

Four years ago today John and I were blessed with one very amazing little boy.
Adrian has taught me so much about so many little things in life, things I probably used to take for granted. He's taught me that I'm able to find patience that I never knew I had - just every now and again he likes to test that one ;)
Looking at the world all over again through his beautiful big brown eyes has made me a better person in so many ways!

(He was SUPER excited about his birthday this year
& yes, there are too many candles on his cake, he is not 6 - John had to point that fact out to me ;)

It was a very low key birthday this year, actually we celebrated last night since today was a busy day for dad... life has been very unpredictable and crazy lately. I promised him as soon as his dad slows down we'll be going somewhere for some serious fun!

Homemade Yogurt... YUM!

Thought I'd share this easy recipe I whipped up this morning, the kids LOVED it and it's so healthy.

I just pureed all this together, you can add any fruit concoction you like:

1/2 avocado
a little activia yogurt

They can't taste the avocado... but still get all the healthy benefits from it.

Come on Ride That TrainTrain.....

And the train obsession continues... we had Adrian's pre-k field trip today a Pumpkin Farm and there was a wooden play train that Adrian and Preston DiD NoT want to leave and it was not a pretty sight... so I promised if they stopped crying I would build them a train when we got home.. (a tall order, I know ;) And this is what we got. Not too bad for a quick fix... some boxes, rope, construction paper, paint and lots of tape!

(obviously I still need to read more of my new camera manual, the quality of these pics suck, sorry) I say it's the camera's fault, John says it's the controller?!?

Omg... Adrian looks soo much like a ten year old John in this picture!!

Not sure how long the boxes will hold up?? but the kids are sure getting some good use out of it.
