Crochet Head Bands and Flower Clips

bonus: Link to a GREAT TuTu Tutorial below!

Thanks to my friend Rachel (who has 4 children, and finally a baby girl ;) She of course dresses Little Miss Halle to the 9's in the cutest baby girl gear! She also started buying these cute hair bands and clips at boutiques until she realized she could get crafty and make them herself. So she passed along her great ideas to me and whalllaa, here are some that I made.

No, I don't have any girls (& the lady at the craft store was looking at me funny when I told her what I was doing with this stuff, and I have a cart with 3 boys in it), BUT I will be an aunt to a little princess niece in November, so I've started a collection for her. And I made a bunch for my friends with daughters, or those who are expecting daughters in the near future. It was fun, a little time consuming and sometimes hard to find the time with my trio that keep me very BUSY ;).. but it's been a nice little hobby for now, until something else comes along. My big goal someday is to learn how to sew. It's been on my list of things to learn for a looong time now. One of these days!!

Here's my girlfriends daughter Jaidyn striking a pose in her new headband ;)

You can get these headbands all over the place. Or the crochet material can be bought at the some of the craft stores by the yard and sewn together to make a headband, then the flowers are just glued with a glue gun to the clips and for some I added gems.

Here are the clips for the flowers/bows, it's just an alligator clip with ribbon glued on them.

And here is Miss Halle. Rachel's been making these tutu's for her too, then making the matching head bands. So adorable!

I just LOVE IT when I get a good pic with everyone smiling and looking at the camera. It's usually the small things that make me HaPpY.

We got a new camera, just trying to figure out how to work it, reading the manual helps a ton ;) I didn't do that with the previous one, skimmed the pages, probably why I took so many blurry pics with it. (then I'd complain about what a piece of junk it was).. typical ;)

It's a Date!

Preston's day of one on one time with mom and a lunch/playdate with Jaidyn and Angie. A long overdue visit from a great old college friend Angie and her daughter Jaidyn. Preston had such a great time! He's such a different little boy when he's by himself (well, without his older and younger bros dominating the situation) P tends to be very shy lately.
We've been trying to take the kids out solo so they can get some extra attention and that one on one. It's so important and I think they're really enjoying it!!

She's a cutiepie!!

Monkeying around

such a ham!

Isn't this the cutest thing ever!? (will I be saying that when he's 15 and doing
They even have their little eyes closed. It's looking serious here ;)

I don't think back in college... Ang I thought our kids would be making out someday ;)

He was soooo well behaved at our sushi lunch

A Visit from the Blosser's

Our oldest-bestest friends, the Blosser's stopped by on their 4 day tour through the NE Ohio on their summer vacation. It was great having the kids together, we don't get to see this fam nearly enough!

Here are the boys... posing with Xzavier. How adorable, we have all sizes here.

Moretti Family Reunion 2010

We attended the Moretti Reunion this year. I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't been to one in a very... very long time, probably like 10 years. So glad we went! It was fun even tho we ended up getting there an hour late, (not my fault for once ;) just a miscommunication.. grandma J was told the wrong time. It was some yummy Italian food and nice to be with family!

Just a very small group of us, a lot of the fam already had plans that day.
I was thinking if all of grandma J's children & spouses and her grandkids and great grandkids attended, our table would have a little over 20 people at it.

lots of Italians

DC - Baltimore Trip

The two oldest boys and I took a road trip with my MIL to visit my SIL and some more of John's family recently. It was a great time, we saw family, hit up the Baltimore Aquarium and had the BEST crab I've ever eaten!

Poor P... but he looks so darn cute tho, Val and G. Honey kept having him say "driving Miss Daisey"

going in for the big kiss....

love you P!

Baltimore was such a cool place to see and had some beautiful areas.

There was some sort of Comic-Con Convention going on in Baltimore and people dressed up everywhere. It made for some very interesting people watching!

Valeria was... KuNG Fu FiGhtInG!
